Antkind Music Marketing operates out of Reykjavik Iceland. The aim is to help musicians become self-sustaining through media exposure, music licensing and live performances. We concentrate on defining the market for the music and the strength of the act itself. That said, we only work with artists that are dedicated, open minded and completely committed to their own success. If that drive is missing, there is absolutely nothing we can do. We’re part artist management, part marketing entity. If concerts, production work, releases and whatever else is required in order for the marketing effort to work, we engage in that through our networks.
Our operating principle is teamwork and communication both internally and with the fan base. Marketing, as does all business, depends on it. If you’re already spending 8 hours a day building your career, great! If not, be prepared to or find a day job. There is no difference between regular work and this; it takes effort, commitment and strategy. That said, we prefer contemporary music with a bite to it (think large clubs with lasers, thundering beats and big dance floors). If you want to sound like a 1970s act, find someone with a time machine as that’s where your market is. If you don’t have music industry experience or advanced background in music as far as arrangement and production goes, we do and know how to use it. Argue that something works that we know won’t work and you’re on your own condemning your music to your own car or kitchen instead of bringing your uniqueness to the market.
